More Information on Nevada
 Home

If you live in Nevada and seldom travel far from the strip, you’re missing out. If you live in Nevada and have never been to the strip, God help your poor soul. Even if you haven’t been in awhile, go. The strip changes constantly due to renovations, new hotels and restaurants, and new live entertainment. In short, there’s always something new to do and see. But the strip isn’t all Nevada has to offer, not even close. Get a change of scenery and roll the dice in Reno, or strap on the snow boots and plan a winter trip to Tahoe. With high elevation mountains and dry, arid deserts, Nevada is also a great place for hiking, camping, biking, climbing, even hot air ballooning. If it’s water sports you like, take a drive to one of Nevada’s many lakes and enjoy some splashing fun in the sun. Whatever your choice, the point is, there are thousands and thousands of square miles to explore and discover, right here in your own state. So what are you waiting for?

A Serious Steakhouse with More than Just Steaks

Ruths Chris Steak HouseOne can only expect the best at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse. As Ruth Fertel once said, "It's the sizzle that sets us apart from the stuffy, stodgy, old-line steak houses. You have a great steak at Ruth's Chris, but you also have a great time, and you always leave with great memories."

This is the place that showed the world how great a steak can be: carefully selected and aged for tenderness and then cut thick to ensure juiciness. Then, seared to perfection at 1800 degrees. Finally, seasoned simply with salt, black pepper and a touch of parsley. Topped with fresh butter that sizzles seductively on your plate, announcing the arrival of a great steak.

At Ruth's Chris, while steak is king, the royal family is large. Be sure to also try the Market Fresh Seafood selection, cooked to perfection. Or the popular Ahi Tuna Stack, seared rare, topped with Colossal lump crabmeat and served sizzling with red pepper pesto. There's even something for vegetarians. The Grilled Portobello Mushrooms - marinated Portobello mushrooms on fluffy garlic mashed potatoes with grilled asparagus, broccoli, tomatoes and sizzling lemon butter is sure to please your palette.

Fresh ingredients are at the core of Ruth’s Chris steakhouse and that philosophy extends from the kitchen to the wine cellar to the bar. So, enjoy a martini with your favorite vodka, whether that's Grey Goose, Armadale or Chopin. If you're a Scotch drinker, be sure to try the 25-year-old Macallan single malt. Of course, the restaurant also has the finest vintages from the world's greatest wineries, by the bottle or by the glass. At Ruth's Chris, your meal will always have the perfect accompaniment.

Clearly, Ruth’s Chris take their food seriously, but they’re also serious about making sure you have a good time. So you won't find the stodgy, uptight attitude you might find at other steak houses. So, feel free to laugh out loud, stay a while and experience the sizzle.

The American Southwest is unlike any other region in the world. Its terrain, wildlife, culture, and history, are one-of-a-kind and are closely allied to the people who originally lived there, the Native Americans, and the settlers that came to the area over the past few centuries. Like other states in the region, Nevada has lush, high-elevation mountain ranges; large valleys; and arid desert plains, such as the Mojave Desert, part of Nevada’s Great Basin. Though its capital is Carson City, Nevada is most famous for another city, Las Vegas! People travel from all around the globe to experience the glitz, the glamour, the food, the biggest luxury hotel and casinos in the world, and of course, the gambling, the state’s primary source of revenue. Here you’ll find impressive live shows with well known celebrities and musicians; unparalleled nightlife in clubs, lounges, and bars of all types; amusement and water park rides for families; shopping and dining for all price ranges; architecture celebrating the diversity of many different countries, and visual attractions of all kinds. Vegas aside, there’s also Lake Tahoe, famous for its high mountain peaks overlooking the picturesque lake, which is particularly breathtaking in winter when skiing the white, powdery slopes while watching the sun sparkle on the lake below. Reno is another popular destination, as is the immense, awe-inspiring Hoover Dam, the tallest dam in North America. Aside from the manmade wonders, Nevada is also prime real estate for hiking, camping, mountain biking, climbing, boating and swimming on its many lakes, hot air ballooning, and other fun, outdoor sports.
